Saint Joseph Regional offers opportunities to join the school chorus and jazz band for performances at monthly liturgies, concerts, local malls and nursing homes. The SJR Chorus is comprised of immensely talented boys and girls, and new voices are always welcome.

Singers gain valuable vocal training experience, and students who play instruments grow through improvisation techniques. Membership in the chorus or jazz band may mark the high note of a young performer’s career or prove to be the launching pad toward a professional career in the performing arts..

Class of 2011 vocalist Taylor Popielarz summarized the group’s spirit when writing for the yearbook: “More important than the potential prizes and recognition, the Saint Joe’s chorus continues to be a group of high school boys and girls who sing and perform because it thrills them each and every time they take the stage.”

The SJR Chorus is directed by Mr. Edward Ginter.

The SJR Jazz Band is directed by Mr. Michael Torres.

FROM THE DESK OF M. TORRES

Another summer gone and we are back  to begin the rehearsal to performance schedule that we all know and love. Tuesday will be our first get together where we meet new players and orient them as to the possibilities and responsibilities of Jazz Band membership. Current members should take every opportunity to recruit Freshman musicians to the program. If we wait for forms to be filled or emails lists assembled we will lose the advantage of time and momentum. AND, every current member that brings in a new player gets a new 2014 Hybrid car!!  Just kidding...

What is the truth is that I am looking forward to working once again with you all to make beautiful and expressive jazz this year. So.. what are we waiting for?
